SUBMIT WORK FOR A SUMMER
2012 GROUP EXHIBITION AT THE
MUSLIM JEWISH CONFERENCE

MJC is an annual week-long conference bringing together Muslim and Jewish leaders in their 20s and 30s from over 30 countries and diverse professional, civic, political and academic fields. The participants represent a new generation of thinkers, doers and allies, who are connected by their faith in the possibility of a new era of cooperation.
To learn more, please visit www.mjconference.org.

MJC 2012 IS IN BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA BEGINNING JULY 8. FOR THE FIRST TIME, A FINE ARTS EXHIBITION AS WELL AS AN ARTISTS MICRO-RESIDENCY PROGRAM WILL BE INCORPORATED INTO THE CONFERENCE.

Artists are invited to submit work to be considered
for inclusion in our juried exhibition. The
show will not only provide a thought-provoking
context for MJC attendees to socialize and ponder
the many topics addressed throughout the week,
but will also be open to the general public. The
official title will be determined by the selection
committee, based on common themes that
emerge in the various submissions.

Muslim and Jewish artists as well as other artists
who address subjects such as religious identity,
faith, interfaith and intercultural dialogues, or
related themes are all welcome to submit individual
pieces or a series for consideration. Work
in any medium that can be transported at the
artist’s expense to Bratislava before July 6. This
includes but is not limited to works on paper,
canvas and textiles, sculpture, multimedia and
recorded performance art.

Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis until
June 29, 2012.
Please send up to six images to:
art@mjconference.org

Your email must include a one-paragraph artist
statement explaining the artwork’s relevance to
contemporary Muslim and/or Jewish issues.
Please also clearly list the title, medium, dimensions,
and year for each image included. In addition,

Artists will be contacted by email and notified of
next steps if their work has been accepted.
Unanswered attempts will be followed-up with a
telephone call when possible. You may email us
with questions or include additional information
about yourself or your work in your submission if
you think it will help us understand its relevance.
