Despite living in the digital age many artists and designers often turn to drawing, an age-old practice, as the first step in their approach to new artwork or a project. How do your drawings function and influence your approach to art making?


Full-fledged drawings, as well as sketches and studies, are welcome for submission. However, all works should reflect an understanding of artistic techniques and art history. Only fine art submissions will be considered.

  1. Include in the mailing:
    1. Entry fee, in the form of a check made paya
    2. ble to “Reynolds Fine Art,” and submission form (found at the bottom of this document).
    3. A brief (2-5 paragraph) artist statement supporting the works submitted.
    4. A numbered inventory list. The list should include: size/dimensions of work. medium, and pricing.
    5. Your resume detailing educational, professional, and exhibition history.



  1. Submitted images should be high-quality JPEG files (with a file suffix of .jpg or .jpeg format).
  2. Images should be saved at 72 dpi screen resolution with a minimum height/width of 1000 pixels.
  3. Name of file should include: firstnamelastname01.jpg. For example, VanGoghVincent01.jpg, VanGoghVincent02.jpg, VanGoghVincent03.jpg, etc.

Please note: Poorly documented work will not be considered for the exhibition.


NOTIFICATIONS: Artists will be notified via email of accepted works by August 18, 2012


SHIPPING: Accepted works must arrive to Reynolds Fine Art by 5pm Thursday, October 25, 2012. Artists are responsible for shipping their work. Shipped work must be insured during transport and sent in reusable containers. Artist must email a pre-paid return-shipping label to info@reynoldsfineart.com that includes the shipper’s pick-up fee and the return shipping fee. FedEx is preferred for shipping artwork. All claims for artwork damaged in shipment are the responsibility of the artist and shipper.


FRAMING: Each accepted entry must be installation-ready. Works must be framed, in a professional manner, in a matte black wood frame, a single acid free mat, regular picture glass wired and ready to hang, no saw tooth hangers please. Installation instructions must be included, and each piece should be clearly labeled with the artist’s name and title of work.


PICK-UP/RETURN OF WORKS: Artwork must be picked up by December 15, 2012. Shipped work will be returned, at the artist’s expense, during the two weeks following the close of the exhibition. Reynolds Fine Art assumes no responsibility for artwork left beyond December 15, 2012


SALES: Works will be for sale during the exhibition. Artist sets the retail. Reynolds Fine Art will receive a 50% commission on artwork sold during the exhibition. Artists will receive a check for 50% of the sale within 30 days of the exhibition closing.


PHOTOGRAPHY: Reynolds Fine Art may photograph the work for reproduction and use images of submitted artwork to publicize and promote the exhibition.
