First Annual Salmon Sculp...

The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts seeks submissions for the 1st Annual Salmon Sculpture Competition, a juried exhibition of outdoor sculpture installed at the Sunken Garden Park, City of San Angelo, Texas. San Angelo’s Sunken Garden Park is located on 7 acres and features many varieties of native plants. Located on Route 87, over 2 million  vehicles pass by this park every year and there are thousands of visitors.


Up to 12 large scale works will be chosen for installation. Open to all artists 18 and older. Artwork must have been completed within the last 4 years. All media suitable for outdoor installation are appropriate. We are seeking large scale works. There is no weight limit. Artists must provide hardware required for a safe and secure installation.

Jed Morse - Curator, Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas, Texas -- one of the world’s largest contemporary sculpture collections.


Invited Artist

Jesús Moroles, the internationally recognized sculptor, lives and works in Rockport, Texas. A major work of his will be on exhibit on the grounds of the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum will display a maquette of a planned sculpture garden designed by Moroles.
