City of League City through Gulf Coast Public Affairs presents the Boogie, Blues & Brews Festival. Music lovers rejoice! Fri., Sat. & Sun, Sept. 21-23 the City of League City’s Boogie Blues & Brews Festival rolls into town.
The event will be located on the 86-acre Walter Hall Park, in beautiful League City, Texas. League City is located in Bay Area Houston (Clear Lake Area), just minutes from NASA Johnson Space Center and the Kemah Boardwalk. The event promises to become one of the largest Blues Festivals in the Gulf Coast!
Residents and visitors will enjoy 3 fun-filled days of blues, rock, zydeco and rockabilly. Local, regional, and national music acts include: Los Lonely Boys, Marcia Ball and Jimmie Vaughn, the Tilt-A-Whirl Band featuring Lou Ann Barton, Umbrella Man, Step Rideau and the Zydeco Outlaws.
3 signature events will kick-off the inaugural year. A hotly contested Chili-Cook Off will be open to the public on Sat. afternoon; Sun. will open with a gospel music extravaganza on the main stage and a sweet tea competition. Local restaurants will compete for bragging rights in the first annual Sweet Tea Competition. All true Texas traditions!
The Festival opens on September 21 for “Hometown Night”, a celebration of League City’s 50th birthday.
The Festival’s Kid’s Zone will feature a children’s stage, a teen cafe, and a multitude of children activities to keep the excitement meter on high. Also featured will be a huge arts and crafts market with shopping and promotional opportunities A wide-variety of festival foods, both in the food court, and in specialty kiosks throughout the park offer a complete festival experience.
