About The Gallery:

 

Paseo Originals Art Gallery is a private fine art gallery located in the Historic Paseo Arts District at the south end of Paseo Creek and has been voted the Best Local Art Gallery 2012 by the citizens of Oklahoma City. Focusing on an eclectic collection of contemporary fine art, fine craft Americana, new media, furniture, handcrafted jewelry, and small and large scale sculpture the gallery represents established, mid-career and emerging artists of exceptional caliber. With one of the largest spaces in the Paseo District the gallery hosts monthly exhibits defined in three gallery exhibit spaces featuring both national and international artists who exemplify the unique characteristics of a collectable fine artist. Featuring bold, ingenuitive and technically evolved artworks, Paseo Originals is dedicated to the beginning and established collector. The gallery hosts opening receptions for exhibits on the first Friday of each month during the Paseo First Friday Art Walk. The gallery also features lectures, demonstrations, and cocktail closing receptions during each month. Eligibility:

 

The juried exhibit “Platform” will act as a launching pad for emerging and mid career artists looking to establish themselves through private gallery representation. Artists who currently have gallery representation in Oklahoma City are not eligible to participate. All participating artists must be 18 years of age and must be a permanent resident of the United States. All artworks submitted must have been completed after November, 1st 2011. All 2D artwork is permissible with the exception of photography. The maximum dimensions for accepted 2D works is 72 inches by 60 inches. All 3D work is permissible with the exception of installation. The maximum dimensions for accepted 3D artworks is 7 feet by 7 feet with a maximum height of 8.5 feet. Video and performance based work will not be accepted for review by the selection committee.

 

 

 

Prospectus:

 

The Paseo Originals Art Gallery is a private gallery representing both national and international artists. The gallery focuses in bold, cutting edge examples of artwork created by emerging, mid-career and established artists who demonstrate adept technical understanding of their media and superb elemental composition. The juried exhibit “Platform” will act as a launching pad for emerging and mid-career artists looking to establish themselves through private gallery representation. All participating artist must be 18 years of age and must be a permanent resident of the United States. All artworks submitted must have been completed after November, 1st 2011. All 2D artwork is permissible with the exception of photography. The maximum dimensions for accepted 2D works is 72 inches by 60 inches. All 2D artworks should be framed consistently and be presentation ready with hanging wire or D-rings. Canvases should be framed or gallery wrapped with payne's gray, black or finished edges. All 3D work is permissible with the exception of installation. The maximum dimensions for accepted artworks is 7 feet by 7 feet with a maximum height of 8.5 feet. Video and performance based work will not be accepted for review by the selection committee. Entries to the “Platform” exhibit will be reviewed by a selection committee consisting of the Karen Orr, Tony Morton, F. Bradley Jessop, Steve Liggett and Laura Warriner. Accepted artists to the “Platform” exhibit will be responsible for the the shipping/transportation/delivery of their works to the gallery. The awards juror, Alison Amick, Curator of Collections at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, will jury the submissions in the gallery prior to the exhibit's V.I.P. Preview Party. Monetary awards, to be determined by the juror will be announced during the V.I.P. Pre-Opening Reception. Solo exhibits and representation awards, to be determined by the Gallery Owner and Director, will also be announced during the V.I.P. Preview Party. No more than 8 artists will be selected for participation in the “Platform” exhibit where they will each exhibit multiple artworks. There will be three monetary awards (Best of Show and two Awards of Merit), one solo exhibit award and at least five representation awards.

 

 

 

Submissions:

 

All submissions should include artist contact information (Address, Phone, Email and/or Web), artist biography, artist statement, artist resume, image inventory including image reference, artwork title, dimensions, completion date, media, price in USD and frame/presentation (large sculpture should include approximate weight). All included digital text documentation should be in PDF or Word format. Text documentation in paper format is also acceptable, but all images must be in digital Jpeg format and no larger than 2 megabytes each. Images of artworks larger than 30 inches by 30 inches may include one detail image per artwork. Digital images should be titled with artists first initial and last name, artwork title, media and dimensions in inches (Example f.smith.acceptance.oiloncanvas.30x30.jpg). Submissions should be mailed to Paseo Originals Art Gallery, 2920 Paseo, Oklahoma City, OK 73103. Checks or money orders should be made out to Paseo Originals Art Gallery and have “Platform” in the memo. Credit card (Visa, Mastercard and Discover) payments for submissions can be processed by calling the gallery directly at 405.604.6602. Liability and responsibility:

 

Artists are responsible for the proper presentation (Frame or mount including professional hanging hardware) of their artworks. The selected artists are responsible for transport, delivery and shipping of selected artworks to and from the gallery facility. Artists are responsible for insuring the shipping of their works. The gallery will be responsible for the cost of all associated exhibit events and promotions including advertising. Checks for the sale of artworks will be issued to the artists and sent by mail to the requested address within 15 days of the close of the exhibit month. Artist may also choose to pick up their checks at the gallery after payment has been issued. Paseo Originals Art Gallery reserves the right to refuse the exhibition of any artworks not matching their description or their submission images.
