Preliminary and final judging will be done by the juror listed above. Selections will be made from digital images that must arrive with the entry form and fee at The Tim Murphy Art Gallery by 5:00pm on January 7th, 2012. Notice of acceptance will be made no later than January 30, 2012 via the website at www.merriam.org/park. Only juror accepted works will be exhibited. Final judging will be on site. If for some unforeseen reasonthe juror must withdraw before jurying is completed, The Tim Murphy Art Gallery reserves the right to select another juror of similar rank to complete the juror’s responsibilities. Artist will be duly notified in this event.


ELIGIBILITY Artists age 18 and over are eligible to enter the exhibition. Only original paintings in oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, charcoal,pencil or a mixture of any of the above media are acceptable. All work must be on canvas, paper, masonite or ragboard.The decision of the juror on all entries is final. All entries must be FOR SALE and available for exhibition at the Tim Murphy Art Gallery March 3-April 7, 2012.

Works previously exhibited at The Tim Muphy art gallery are not eligible for entry. AWARDS: (Sponsored by Merriam Parks, Recreation and Community Center Foundation and The City of Merriam) Best of Show: $1,500.00 Second Place: $1,000.00 Third Place: $ 500.00 Awards of Merit (3): $ 100.00 each Honorable Mention: (3) Purchase Award (1) by the Merriam Park, Recreation, & Community Center Foundation. SPECIFICATIONS AND PRESENTATION All work must be matted, framed, and wired for hanging; clip frames will not be accepted. Plexiglas is required on all shipped work. Maximum size of the outside frame measurement is 40 horizontal or vertical inches. (101.6cm x 101.6 cm). The Art Gallery is located in a community center. Please use discretion on subject matter. HOW TO ENTER A maximum of three (3) digital images in jpg. format may be submitted for jurying. Images must be submitted on a disk. Entering by mail or in person: Digitals shall be named identical to the original title to differentiate each work on the disk you submit. If you wish your disk returned, a selfaddressed envelope is required. ENTRY FEES Entry fees are $35.00 for up to 3 digital works per artist. Entry fees are non-refundable and payable to: The City of Merriam. The entry fee, completed entry form, digitals, and selfaddressed stamped envelope for return of digital disk must be received no later than January 6, 2013 by 5:00pm. Mail to: Irene B. All work must be for sale—no NFS or POR. With the sale of any artwork, the artist will have to supply their social security number before payment is made. All sold work must remain in exhibition until conclusion of show. SHIPPING AND RECEIVING Due between February 9-16.

Shipped work must be sent to the designated shippingagent Consolidated Mailing Corp., 5735 Kessler, Merriam, KS 66203, 913-262-4400. A registration form shall be completely filled out for shipped work. A storage and delivery fee will be charged to your credit card as follows: • Artwork sent in separate boxes - $40.00 per box • More than two pieces shipped together -$40.00 for 1st piece; $15.00 for each additional piece Note: No Packing Peanuts may be used.


Unsold work will be returned after credit card charges are made via Consolidated Mailing Corp. unless the artist makes other arrangements directly with the shipping agent. Accepted

artists will receive additional shipping instructions. There is no handling fee for hand-delivered work. Artists are responsible for insuring their own work prior to and after the exhibit as insurance is provided for exhibited works during the exhibit. Consolidated Mailing Corporation utilizes UPS for insurance and you will be able to choose how you want your work returned if not sold.





Work must be picked up by Sunday, April 14th. Community center hours for pick-up are as follows: Monday-Thursday, 8am-8pm Friday, 8am-4pm, Saturday, 8am-3pm, Sunday, 1pm-4pm ***The box you ship must have a BMC stamp, which is the Box Manufacturers Certificate. Without that stamp UPS or FedEx will not pay a claim if something happens to your work(s) during the shipping or receiving process. If you choose to use FedEx, there will be additional charge of $20.00 per piece by FedEx for pickup. LIABILITY The City of Merriam will not be responsible for loss or damage to artwork which is in transit. Artwork that is touched up prior to shipping must be completely dry prior to shipping


. Insurance is provided for exhibited works during the exhibit. The artist agrees to authorize the City of Merriam, at its discretion, to utilize photographs of exhibited work for publicity purposes, not for reproduction.
