Brenda Taylor is pleased to announce a Juried Exhibition, February 15th - 26th 2013, that is open to all artists working in painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, or video.
10 artists will be selected for inclusion. Artists who are not accepted will receive a document titled Approaching the Art World, a simple guide to understanding the inner workings of the art world.
Please submit no more than 6 jpeg images of recent available work. Do not send images in a zip file. Images should be labeled with the title, year, medium, size, and price. Artists should include a contact sheet with phone and email, bio, and statement within their submission. Include a SASE if you would like your material returned.
Your application must include a $25 dollar check made payable to Brenda Taylor Gallery. Or you may pay online by following this link:
You may also submit payment through PayPal by clicking ‘send money’ or ‘send money online’, and then entering firstname.lastname@example.org.
Accepted work should mailed to the gallery ready to hang. Please include a return postage paid mailing label so that we may return unsold work to the artist promptly. The artist is responsible for all shipping fees to and from the gallery. Do not send packaging materials with peanuts. 100% of sales will go to the artist.
The deadline for this opportunity is February 4th at midnight. The artists that are selected will be notified on February 5th and their work must arrive on February 13th. Please email application packages to email@example.com or mail application packages to: Brenda Taylor Gallery, 505 W. 28th St. NY, NY 10001.
We intend to archive all applicants' work for future opportunities. Past artists, who were not selected, have had a 2 month exhibition in the outdoor project space across from us, as well as referrals to clients that have resulted in sales. We are trying to help qualified artists receive exposure in the Chelsea area.
Instead of Brenda Taylor Gallery receiving percentage, we ask that you consider donating a portion of your sale to a charity that will benefit Staten Island or other hard hit areas from hurricane Sandy.
