The Manhattan Perceived art competition aims to showcase artistic works that capture the perceptions of various neighborhoods throughout Manhattan that have been impacted by or are recovering from Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. Acceptable artwork for submission in the Manhattan Perceived Project include both paintings and photography which depict the resilience of New York City.
The first prize receives $10,000 and additional 5 runners up will receive a Macbook Pro.
A panel of expert judges will select six winning entries, one Grand Prize winner and five runners-up. Submissions will be judged based on criteria including creativity, quality, genuineness of the content, and how well the artwork captures the resilient spirit of neighborhoods in New York City affected by Hurricane Sandy.
