A call for artist entries has been announced for the 2nd Annual Red River Art Show & Sale. The art show will be held Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Ardmore Convention Center. It is open to all artists 18 years and older working in oil, water media, pastel, drawing and sculpture. Artists selected for the show are eligible for $3,500 in art awards.
The art show participants will be juried-in by Anne Morand, Curator of The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. The theme for this year’s event is “American Art.”
The Red River Art Show & Sale is the annual fundraising event held by the Good Shepherd Community Clinic, Inc. The clinic provides quality medical, dental and vision care free of charge to patients who lack options for healthcare in a five county area in South Central Oklahoma.
Last year the event attracted more than 430 “by reservation only” guests and featured 25 juried artists from all over the United States. This year the art show will be open for public viewing from 10 am to 3 pm and the “by reservation only” event featuring an art reception, silent auction, catered dinner, special entertainment by Performing Artist, Richard Hight and followed by dancing to the band, Hook.
The artist entry deadline is Wednesday, July 3, 2013. The entry fee is $40, which entitles each artist to submit up to four works.
