The mind is truly a mysterious thing. Science is constantly baffled by the intricacies of the brain that allow it to create our mind—our personality. The mind can often create problems of its own, when we feel overflows of emotion and unnamed states of being.
For this call for entries, we’re looking for art that deals with mental states from love, infatuation, and happiness to mental disorders, fear, phobias, and anger. Anything that the mind produces in terms of subconscious reactions, emotions and conditions, we want to see your interpretation of it in visual terms.
All international artists, professional and amateur and all art mediums will be considered in this call for entries from photography to wall sculpture, fabric, mixed media, all paintings and drawings including, oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, etc. Work must be able to be hung on a wall to be considered. Be sure to include a link if you are submitting a video submission. Free standing sculptures are only being considered for online shows at this time.
Accepted entries for this online exhibition will be judged again for a collective live exhibition at our Pasadena Gallery in the coming months. The artists will be asked if they wish to submit their artwork for the live collective exhibition, which is not a requirement to being a part of the online exhibition.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: July 29, 2013
