(Un)Still Life is the new exhibition scheduled for January-February 2013 at the Coconino Center for the arts. Through the exhibition, we aim to explore both the commonality of the human experience as well as unique anecdotal scenes recreated through the medium of paint. For this exhibition we seek imagery centering around the human figure that are imbued with a depiction of humanity as it's core concept.
Though the call is broad, we aim to create a unified show about honest depictions of the human condition and universal emotions.
This exhibition is open to artists from the United States aged 18 or older. Though submitted paintings do not need to be explicitly objective, the human figure needs to be an observable element of the composition. Paintings should be created utilizing traditional paint medium: Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Gouache, or Enamel.
