Apply today for the 2014 Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival

The Greater Reston Arts Center annually produces the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival.
We are committed to providing our community exciting opportunities to engage and purchase original, well-conceived, and expertly executed artwork. As a 501(c) 3 non-profit, the proceeds from the Festival support our exhibition, education, and outreach programs. The Festival is held in Reston, an affluent suburb of Washington D.C., ranked #4 of the wealthiest counties in America, by Forbes Magazine.

Two hundred artists will be selected on the basis of quality, originality, and craftsmanship by a panel of independent jurors and by members of our curatorial staff.  All are superb professionals with extensive experience in various disciplines of studio art and museum curation.  The 2014 jurors are; Rachel Cozad, former Director of the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. Jo Lauria, independent curator formerly of The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, specializing in Decorative Arts, Design and Craft. Michael Monroe, Director emeritus of the Bellevue Arts Museum and former lead curator at The Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Renwick Gallery.

Estimated attendance is 50,000 throughout the weekend and we offer visitors a wide range of diverse, art-focused, activities and performances, including our Incubator exhibition, featuring Renee Stout, on view in the gallery. The 2013 Festival was ranked #22 for Fine Art and #28 for Fine Craft by Greg Lawler's Art Fair SourceBook. Of the 78% of the artists who returned our artist surveys last year, 20.5% said they sold between $5k and $10k, with 5.5% saying they sold more than $10k.

Artist hospitality includes convenient set up, on site parking, booth-sitters, and reduced hotel rates. Artists also compete for $5,000 in ten equal merit awards.

What participating Artists say:
“Thank you for putting on such an exceptional and well orchestrated show.  The enthusiasm and support from the collectors was amazing, the rain did not dampen their coming and spending.  I can only imagine what a beautiful weather weekend may bring..." 2013 Artist - Mixed Media 3D

What Collectors say:
"We love to purchase artwork from the amazing artists at the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival.  These works add vibrancy and interest to our home, while helping to support the arts and artists who create them.  Over the years we have collected over 20 pieces of art at this event, and made many connections with artists we now call "friends".  It is one of the best venues for art in the Mid-Atlantic, and also a highly anticipated event for the community and the metropolitan Washington, DC area."   Bob & Bonnie  - Reston
