Eligibility: Artists new to exhibiting their work publicly in a gallery setting.
Entries: Two works per artist; all work must be for sale (No NFS)
Jurors: Brett X. Gamache, Artist & Art Instructor, Cambridge Center Studio School and Brian Chu, Associate Professor of Art, University of New Hampshire
Submissions drop off: Saturday and Sunday, February 22nd and 23rd, Noon to 4 PM, Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery, 136 State Street, Portsmouth, NH (603) 431-4230. Jury notifications will be received by Tuesday, February 25th.
Declined work pick up: Saturday and Sunday, February 28th and 29th, Noon to 4 PM
Artists may submit work digitally through email. Digital submissions must be received by Sunday, February 23rd, with jury notifications being received by Tuesday, February 25th. It is essential that your digital submission is of professional quality. Poor images may be disqualified at the juror’s discretion. Digital submissions must be 300dpi with the largest dimension no larger than 6” jpeg format.
All digital submissions and questions should be directed to: email@example.com. Name the file as follows:Last name, first initial.Title.jpeg (Example: MuthK.Title.jpeg).
In order to be considered for jurying, payment of the entry fee must be received by credit card taken over the phone or mailed in check. If accepted, the work must be delivered to the Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery no later than Monday, March 3rd by 5:00 PM.The jury has the option, upon receipt of the artwork to decline.
Entry Fees: $15 flat fee per artist
Pick up of work: Exhibited work: Saturday and Sunday, March 29 & 30, Noon to 4 PM
If you cannot pick up your work personally, please make arrangements for someone to remove your work on the specific date
Opening Reception: Friday, March 7, 2014, Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery, 5 – 8 PM; Best of Show Award will be announced at approximately 6:00 PM
Awards: One prize will be awarded as Best of Show. The artist will receive a month long solo exhibit on the Gerry Frazier Wall at the Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery, dates to be determined.
Liability: For Insurance Purposes: The value of each work is agreed to be 50% of the first $1000 of the listed price, plus 25% of that portion of the listed price that exceeds $1000 (if any) up to a maximum value of $2000. NHAA will not be responsible for any loss or damage to any work from any cause, regardless of fault, over and above it’s agreed upon value.
Sales: All work must be for sale--no NFS will be accepted. The NHAA retains 40% commission on work sold.
