Pacific Art Experience

 

Pacific University, near Portland, OR, is looking for an artist(s) to feature in the Pacific Art Experience 2015. The PAE is a hands-on student workshop designed to inspire creativity and experimentation in the visual arts. During the weeklong workshop, invited artist(s) will develop a project, and help students explore creativity in novel and exciting ways. Projects may be 2D and/or 3D, installation, may use traditional or non-traditional materials, and may be temporary or permanent. Selected artist will receive a $1200 stipend, a $200 supply budget, an artist’s talk, and an exhibition in the Kathrin Cawein Gallery on campus. The event and coinciding exhibition will take place in February or March of 2015. Workshops should be designed for two groups of 20 students that meet twice a week for two hours and twenty minutes. Various art studios on campus are available as well as a small experimental permaculture farm. Proposals should include a description of the project, how students will be involved, simple budget, resume, artist’s statement and 15–20 digital images of personal artwork.
