This is a juried exhibition for student and professional artists attending the conference. Each participant may submit up to two pieces. Art may be 2D or 3D, but must incorporate concepts with iron. Drawing and performance photography are encouraged. Work must be ready for installation with appropriate hardware and hanging devices (bolts, frames, hanging wire, hooks, etc.).
We are looking for handmade or customized tools and jigs that help expose the artistic process and intimacy of one’s studio and creativity. Some of the most intriguing elements in a studio are tools, objects of trial and error and other manifestations of ideas that form along with the practice of making art. It is through these relics that the artist can expose clarity of thought and emotion often under-represented in the final object.
