The Brand Library Art Gallery in Glendale, California is announcing it’s 43rd Annual Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper. Awards total over $4,000 in cash, with one purchase award, plus inclusion in printed catalog. Our juror this year is KENT TWITCHELL ( a muralist and grand scale artist whose larger-than-life portraits, often of celebrities and artists, are iconic in Los Angeles and beyond. Murals include the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Michael Jackson, The Word, and Julius Erving Monument, to name just a few. Twitchell’s dedication to public art and artists makes him a natural fit at the Brand Library & Art Center.

ELIGIBILITY: Participation is open to artists residing in the United States. Entries must be original work recently executed and not previously exhibited at the Brand Library Art Galleries. Source material, including photographs must be the artist’s own. Any work misrepresented by the images submitted may be rejected. Brand Library and Juror reserve the right to decline any art deemed unacceptable. Accepted entries may not be removed or substituted before the close of the exhibition. Work must be available between August 7 and November 14, 2015.
MEDIA: Any work on paper: collages, drawings, paintings, photography, prints, watercolors, 3-dimensional works, etc.
All submissions are via the CallForEntry website. Limits on file sizes and file types for all media uploads:

    JPEGs up to 5MB with a minimum of 1920 pixels on the longest side.
    File names should be prefaced by “A” for the first entry, and “B” and “C” for additional entries.
    Image should not include frame or mat.

    ART DISPLAY AGREEMENT: All accepted artists will be required to sign the Brand Library Art Galleries Art Display Agreement. View the agreement here:
    PRESENTATION: Framed work should be glazed with plexiglass (NO glass) and professionally prepared for hanging and exhibition (e.g., neutral-colored mats, no saw-tooth hangers). Three-dimensional, and in some cases, unframed two-dimensional works are acceptable. If the matting or framing is deemed unacceptable by the juror or the gallery director it will be the artist’s responsibility to correct the discrepancy before the work will be exhibited.
    SIZE OF WORKS: There is no size restriction for hand-delivered work. Shipped items, including frame, may not exceed 48 inches in any direction.
    DELIVERY AND RETURN: Accepted works must be hand-delivered or shipped to the Brand Library Art Galleries according to the schedule in this prospectus. Shipped works will be returned approximately two weeks after the exhibition in the same cartons in which they were received. A prepaid shipping label (UPS only) and a $25 handling fee are required for return shipment. Works not picked up on the designated date or not accompanied by a prepaid shipping label and handling fee become the property of the Brand Associates. At their discretion, the Brand Associates may choose to return forfeited works to artists; any works returned under these circumstances will incur a storage fee of $5 per day. Instructions for shipped works will be included with acceptance letters.
    SALES: Unless specified “NFS,” all works will be offered for sale. If a price is not indicated on the entry form, the piece will be considered NFS. The Brand Associates take a 25% commission on sales. Payment to artists will be mailed approximately two weeks after the close of the exhibition. Prices provided on the entry form are final and may not be changed. Changes in price are not permitted following acceptance.

    CATALOG: There will be a catalog of the exhibition. Artists whose works are accepted will be entitled to a complimentary copy. Additional copies will be available for purchase.
