The 25th annual Chelsea International Fine Art Competition will open in February 2010. Agora Gallery is proud to sponsor this exciting event. The prizes, which value altogether $38,000, include a range of opportunities valuable to both emerging and established artists. They include the opportunity to present artwork in a New York art gallery, cash awards, promotion online and publicity in contemporary art magazine ARTisSpectrum. The juror of this year’s competition is Megan Fontanella, Assistant Curator at the famous Solomon Guggenheim Museum in New York.
The competition exhibition for the artwork of the selected artists will take place in summer 2010, in Chelsea, the art district of New York City. The artist/gallery split will be 50/50. In support of the local urban community, 25% of Agora Gallery's proceeds of sales from the competition exhibition will be donated to Art Start, an award-winning and nationally recognized program whose mission is to help underprivileged children and teenagers through developing their creative skills and abilities.
