International Watermedia ...

The Pikes Peak Watercolor Society's International Watermedia XVII will run June 24 to July 23, 2011 at the Cottonwood Center for the Art in Colorado Springs, CO.  Deadline for entry is April 1, 2011.

International Watermedia XVII will be juried by acclaimed artist John Salminen, AWS-DF, NWS.  Cash prizes will include $2,000 for Best of Show, $1,000 Gold Award, and $250 Founders Award, as well as merchandise awards.

The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age or older.  Paintings must be predominantly watermedia on paper, clay board, Yupo, illustration board, or watercolor canvas.  Entry fees are $40 for up to three works; a $10 discount is available with PPWS membership.  Image submission will be all digital (either on CD or via email).  Electronic entry is also available, with a slightly higher fee.

The purpose of International Watermedia XVII is to present a rich spectrum of original work by visionary watermedia artists.  This exhibit seeks to bring recognition to these watermedia artists and their art.

The beauty of the Pikes Peak region inspired Katharine Lee Bates to pen "America the Beautiful."  We invite you to share your creative inspiration through International Watermedia XVII, along with artists from across North America and the world.
