The Bellwether Effect: At the Forefront of Design is an exhibition open to all types of designers living or working within Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties and is intended to illuminate the diverse array of innovative, imaginative designs created in the Tri-County area while also highlighting the impact of design on our material and visual culture. The best designs will be selected for a group exhibition at the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum (CAF). The word bellwether connotes the existence or direction of a trend; so too will the designs featured in this dynamic group exhibition.

Forum 35 announces the 5th annual Art Melt: A Fusion of Art, Music and Forum 35, showcasing Louisiana artists and is currently seeking original artwork submissions. Artists must be 18 or older and must reside in Louisiana.

Last year, this juried art show drew more than 6,000 attendees. This year’s July 11 event to be held at the Shaw Center for the Arts in downtown Baton Rouge is poised to be even larger. All selected works will be on display for one week and available for purchase. Prizes will be awarded for first place ($2,000), second place ($1,000) and third place ($500).

2008 Art Melt artists will submit their entries on-line!! Visit the web-address below to see the main entry site – once you enter your entry information, you will go to the next page to pay on-line! This should really streamline our entry process – and the judging since the juror will visit a special web-site designed just for judging to view all of the work and pick the selected works for the show!

Art Raw Gallery will feature a special show for its inaugural exhibit in New York. On view will be the original artworks of 100's of emerging artists. Opening night will stream live on several websites. The event is scheduled to coincide with many art fairs in NYC. Artwork by all participating artists will be made available for collectors to view/purchase online.

(vote) [  ]-11-08 is a national juried competition open to all artists. As a
show preceding the presidential election the work must represent any civic
practice or responsibility. Any media and   is eligible as long as it is
wall mounted. Each artist may submit up to five entries.  The entry fee is
$20 for up to 3 entries, and $5 for each extra entry up to five total. Cash
awards range from $100 - $500.

2008 Torrance Juried Art Exhibition

The Torrance Art Museum is taking CD submissions for the 2008 Torrance Juried Art Exhibition, an exhibition that will encompass all three galleries. It is juried by Gosia Wojas, Director of Susanne Vielmetter Los Angeles Projects, a contemporary art gallery in the Culver City arts district.

 

The 2008 Torrance Juried Art Exhibition takes place November 15 through December 13, 2008.

The Smithtown Township Arts Council is now accepting entries for its 32nd Annual Juried Fine Arts Exhibition to be held December 6 – 30, 2008, at the Mills Pond House Gallery with cash prizes.
