DISpassiONATE DISCOURSE: Examining Racial Disparities

A themed art show consisting of juried and curated pieces from local, regional, and nationally known artists. Participants will be chosen based on the quality of their artwork and the artist’s ability to present/interpret the impact of racial disparities in the spheres of economics, education, health, the justice system, and/or everyday life. All pieces will be for sale. Artists will receive 60% of sale proceeds; 40% of proceeds benefit the Institute for Dismantling Racism.

LUXURY SWEETS, FEBRUARY 2008

A themed art show curated by ARTworkSF Gallery in the Mezzanine Gallery of the Hotel Triton in downtown San Francisco. Artwork depicting rich and delectable treats and decadent eats that satisfy oral fixations, in 2D or 3D, in all styles and media will be considered. Founded in 1992 [as ARTwork Magazine], ARTwork is dedicated to helping emerging artists gain the confidence and exposure necessary to become successful "art businesses", enhancing the sales of established artists, and selling and renting original art in every media to individuals and businesses at affordable prices.

SCORE VII

Valley Institute of Visual Arts announces a call to artists for SCORE VI (Southern California Open Regional Exhibition), held October 31 to November 17, 2007 at VIVA Gallery, 13261 Moorpark St., Sherman Oaks, CA 91423. WetlandCare National Art Competition 2008

To celebrate World Wetlands Day 2008, an international event proclaimed by the United Nations, WetlandCare Australia has organised an Australia-wide art competition offering categories for both children and adults. We are seeking artworks on paper exploring the theme of Healthy Wetlands, Healthy People, or Wetlands generally, and we also have a Photography section for photographs of NSW wetlands. Closing date for entries is 21 January 2008. The competition is acquisitive, with the winning works to be used by WetlandCare Australia to promote wetlands and the work of WetlandCare Australia. Au Naturel

Clatsop Community College Visual Art Center presents our second annual international juried exhibition, Au Naturel, to be held March 4th - April 11th, 2008. Open to all art- ists working in any drawing, painting, and/or printmaking media, and will include a wide range of interpretations of the nude human figure, from representational to abstract.

TEXAS NATIONAL 2008

TEXAS NATIONAL Art Competition and Exhibition is in its 14th year on the national scene. It was created in 1995 by the School of Art at Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA) as an annual event for artists living and working in the United States. Jurors for each year's event have been internationally acclaimed artists.
